Frequently Asked Questions About Wedding Photography
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes, I do. I travel extensively and distance is never a problem for me. Travel and accommodation costs will be added on to the final price.
Do we get the RAW unedited files?
No. These files are not available for viewing or purchase.
How many photos will we get?
For a wedding I typically deliver between 600-900 images. Buy the number of images captured depends on quite a few things – the number of guests, hours of coverage, and activity during your wedding.
Do we get to keep all of them?
Yes you absolutely get to keep all of them. All images delivered come in high resolution Print Size as well as Web Size formats. Should you wish to print at a later time please feel free to do so. There is no obligation to print through my studio. I however retain the copyright to the images and reserve the right to use them for promotional purposes, competition, publication, professional review etc.
Can we give you a shot list of photographs we want you to take?
Other than family portraits, no. It’s very helpful to know what important relatives and friends are coming to your day, and if any events bear special significance, but repeated requests for posed images and having to work from a checklist is counterproductive to the work you’ve seen here on my website.
Do you edit our images before delivering them to us?
Yes I do. All of them. Fully edited with my personal artistic style (not retouched). All images go through a developing process where I create a delicious end result for you.
Can we get the black and white images in colour?
No. Those images are monochromatic for a reason. If you would like more colour images and less black and white or visa versa you can let me know during our consultation and I’ll make a note of it.
Do you take formal family portraits?
Yes I do. I shoot journalistic but I still believe in those family images. They stay on. They’re records of your entire family at an important time in their history together.
Do you work with a second shooter?
I usually work alone, sometimes depending on the circumstances, there may be an assistant (for lights for example)
How does the payment process work?
A booking fee/retainer is due to reserve your date. The remainder is due once I deliver your wedding in digital form.
Can you hold a date for us?
Bookings are taken on a first come/first serve basis. In order for a date to be locked and secured, a retainer needs to be paid forward. Once that is accounted for your date is held.
I have to cancel my wedding / booking. Can I have my retainer back?
No you cannot. The retainer fee is non-refundable. The retainer guarantees that I will hold the date exclusively for you and once you have booked I will turn down all other commissions for that date.
